Dot NAME Domains

Established in 2001, the Dot NAME universal top-level domain name extension is the single TLD supposed to be for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are known by. At the beginning, only 3rd-level registrations were allowed, so if you desired to purchase john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased 3rd-level names remained active.

Through our company, you can register your dot NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will have the opportunity to update the WHOIS contact details, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer authorization key from the present registrar and we will renew it once the transfer has been finished. There are no specific restrictions on who can register a dot NAME domain, but in order to maintain the concept behind its establishment alive, the Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
